Wessel Ebersohn waited fourteen years between his last novel and The October Killings. It is a great read with roots in South Africa's apartheid past. Leon Lourens was part of a group of South African soldiers that attacked an ANC safe house in Lesotho. He saved the then fifteen-year-old Abigail Bukulu who in present day is a rising star in Justice Department. Each year, on the anniversary of the attack, a member of the original group is killed, and with only two of them left, time is a scarce resource for Lourens. Abigail is the only one who can help him, and she knows who she is looking for.
This promises to be a fantastic Literary lunch, and well worth attending.
