I am always amazed by the diversity of Reacher fans….. even relatively ‘high-brow’ readers seem to succumb to the charms of Jack Reacher. We all need a handy Jack Reacher in our lives! Book # 22 is no let down, and the footloose hero finds himself in a tiny Wisconsin town. In the window of a pawn shop he notices a West Point ring, and on closer examination he sees it’s a woman’s size and dated 2005, which was a tough year involving Iraq and Afghanistan. Knowing what it took to get this ring he’s curious as to the circumstances that resulted in its owner having to pawn it. He decides to find out by finding the woman. (This is the point when all Reacher fans can shout: ‘Hope for the best – plan for the worst!) Fantastic – highly entertaining.
