Húrin is a warrior who goes off to war leaving his wife to bring up their son and daughter alone. When Húrin is captured by the Enemy, a terrible curse is laid upon his family because of his defiance: as a result, his homeland is invaded and his son Túrin becomes separated from his mother and sister, and it seems as though they will never meet again.
Years later, after spending time as the leader of a band of outlaws, Túrin sets out to find his family: but, this may be just what the Enemy wants, and he may end up helping to fulfill the curse rather than avoiding it. A dark mythological tragedy from the author of The Lord of the Rings, edited together from his notes by his son, Christopher Tolkien.
