We met the delightful Martha Andersson, pensioner and force to be reckoned with, in Ingelman-Sunberg’s The little Old Lady Who Broke All the Rules. And this story is just as heart-warming, quirky and hilarious. Martha Andersson and The League of Pensioners decide to leave their dreary care home in Stockholm and visit Las Vegas. Once there they hatch ingenious plans to rob the security system of the casino – a bit like a geriatric Oceans 11! But dicing with the dark side has its dangers and they come up against a gang of genuine criminals they must now outwit. I enjoyed the developing friendships from the first book and once again, I believe the overriding message is: never underestimate a pensioner!
