There are too many orphaned animals and they are all becoming desperate. Mike goes to the baobab tree on the farm that his children claim is ‘special’. There is a hollow in the tree and he sits down and thinks about the land he loves and all the animals on it and how sad he is that he cannot protect them. The spirit of the dead animals surround Mike and beg him to look after their babies and protect them. They promise him their strengths and special attributes.

A couple of nights later the poachers strike again, but this time Mike has all the ‘superpowers’ the animals have given him.
